In the summer of 2005 I did my first visit of a con in the US. I chose (with an eye to my work arrangements) Historicon, one of the biggest cons in the US. The con was hosted in Lancaster, PA like almost every year, roughly an hour´s trip by car from Gettysburg.

Obviously I did not host a game myself, but Mike Lorenzo had asked me to bring a reinforced platoon of SS along for a game he was to host. I obviously honoured that request.

A very special highlight for me was the fact that I was able to take part in a fabulous Sharpsburg (Antietam) game. It was made special not only by the top notch terrain by Doug Kline and the perfect gamemasters job by Curt Daniels, but by the fact that I finally got a chance to meet the great names of Jonny Reb ACW wargaming and have a game with them!
